Food For People’s Pets
Our Food for People’s Pets Program located in The Michael Cannon Community Pet Food Pantry collects donations of dog and cat food all year long and distributes it to organizations and people & pets in need.
Pantry Hours are 9AM to 2PM every Thursday.
Please be aware that we have implemented a few, small changes in our Food for People’s Pets Program, in order to best help our community, and our client families.
Beginning January 18, 2018, we will be requiring income verification in order to remain in our program. We will follow the formula used by the Arizona Department of Economic Security (families at or below 130% of the federal poverty level – for example: family of 3, making less than $2,177/month.) We will accept letters proving that participants are receiving one or more, of the following:
*SNAP benefits; SSDI or SSI benefits; or, Cash benefits (a temporary program from DES)
*Other benefits as approved by Hermitage staff (such as child care help, etc).
We ask that you bring your letters, benefits stubs, etc. with you upon enrollment so we may verify them.
You must also bring proof of spay/neuter in order to enroll. (You can obtain a certificate from your veterinarian who can examine your dog or cat and issue one if you do not have the original documentation.)
Every person enrolling must bring us the form in person, you cannot have a representative bring it in for you. We must see you and verify your paperwork to ensure that you are the individual receiving the benefits.
We understand that this is a sensitive subject, and are trying to be as compassionate and inclusive as we can; we truly want to help all those who need our services.
Our FFPP program does have a client cap, dependent upon food availability; this cap is 200 client families enrolled. We are currently open for enrollment, but ask that you telephone or email us in order to check the status of that cap. We’ll be able to let you know if we have to close enrollment.
