Volunteer at The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter
One of the best ways to help The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter is through volunteering your time. Volunteers are critical to the work we do; we could not care for the number of cats we do without these dedicated individuals. Volunteer opportunities include: administration; socialization; special events; shelter maintenance; and more.
All volunteers are required to attend a two-hour orientation led by our Volunteer Coordinator. These orientations are held weekly for new volunteers. Our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you with the date for your orientation.
There is a $5.00 orientation fee to cover administrative cost and guarantee your spot in the orientation. Click here to pay the fee. (Select “Volunteer Orientation Fee” from the “Donation Type” drop down menu.)
As a volunteer, we expect you to care about and have compassion for the many felines in our care. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age; or accompanied by a parent or guardian, if under the age of 16. Community service volunteers are welcomed as well, so long as there is no felony crime involved.
It is important that volunteers make a commitment to what they do here at the shelter. We look for volunteers who are engaged in the service they provide; possess a positive attitude; take direction; and demonstrate dedication to service. It is also important to work well with the public, as well as the Hermitage Team.

For potential volunteers under age 16, a parent or guardian must complete the form below, listing all minor volunteers that parent or guardian will accompany under additional information. All minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian each time they come in to volunteer.
