The Hermitage hosts a 2-hour club the first Sunday of each month for children ages 6-12. Join us for a craft, educational presentation, snack, and KITTY CUDDLES!! Parents are free to stay or drop off. The registration fee for the club is $20 (sibling discounts available.)

Read to a Cat: Tue thru Sat 10AM to 4:30PM

Kids of all ages are welcome to drop in and read to a cat!

Participants are welcome to bring their own book(s) or read one from our library. After signing the Read to a Cat Logbook, the kids are welcome to pick a book or a FREE PRIZE (ask the front desk for the prize bucket.)

Reading aloud to cats helps improve self-esteem and literacy in children and can be soothing to the cats. The interaction between the child and the cat also creates a life-long human to feline bond. This program is a win-win for all involved.

For more information, email our Community Outreach Coordinator, Ashley at [email protected] or call (520) 571-7839.

Snuggles for Seniors

Snuggles for Seniors is currently on hiatus. If you would like to see this program return, please make a DONATION referencing the SNUGGLES in the comment section.

For seniors, interacting with a pet can be life altering. Feelings of loneliness or isolation can melt away with a simple stroke and purring response. The physical and mental health benefits of interacting with a furry companion can be many-from reduced blood pressure to elevated serotonin levels.

Snuggles for Seniors takes place at multiple retirement homes located in Tucson several times a month. For more information, email our Community Outreach Coordinator, Ashley at [email protected] or call (520) 571-7839.

Meows for Military
